Janice’s Project
Sponsored by : New England Design and Construction & EMNARI
NEDC recently partnered with SmartCoats and EMNARI to completely remodel a room for a child who suffers from a chronic medical condition through the Room to Dream Foundation. We worked with Janice and her family to create a separate living space within her parents’ bedroom for her to sleep, as well as updating the bedrooms of her younger and older siblings.

Coleman’s Project
Designed and Managed by: Gail O’Rourke, Room to Dream Board Member and Owner of White Wood Kitchens
Our home visit started like many home visits with families; a warm welcome, lots of smiles and nods while we listened to their needs and explain to them what a special journey we are about to take them on. As we sat on the sofa next to this special boy, Coleman, who listened carefully, intently…enthusiastically(!) to each and every word that we said, our hearts filled with excitement and anticipation for his project weekend. He was so excited he looked like he wanted to explode! His brother Andrew paid careful attention also. As a teenager, he wasn’t sure if we could live up to what we were promising; if we could make his room a special place. It’s just a bedroom, right?

David’s Project
Designed and Managed by: Gail O’Rourke, Room to Dream Board Member and Owner of White Wood Kitchens
With the Patriots winning their fourth Super Bowl since the turn of the century, a Patriots themed room was fitting for David’s project to feed his passion for football. An avid sportsman, we wanted his room to be a celebration of victory and a place where David could thrive. David’s sister Deanna, is a quintessential teenager with style and sass. We thought a dramatic makeover in her room of pink and black would suit her personality. Read more…

Colby’s Project
Design and Project Management: David Supple and Kara Wilson of New England Design and Construction, EM NARI, and Kevin Sullivan, VP of Shawmut Design and Construction and Co-VP of Room to Dream
NEDC was extremely excited about the opportunity to create a space for Colby where he could be in control of his environment with all the features that were important to him in it. With the support of NARI and Shawmut we wanted to make this as special a room for Colby as possible. Meeting Colby, we could see all the energy and positivity in him and we were very fortunate to have been a part of this. The plan for Colby was to create a 1st floor bedroom out of a living room so as to avoid the stairs to the 2nd floor. It was important for Colby to have his family be able to easily visit and spend time in his room. It was also important for him to have room to play and walk around in his room while still having plenty of storage and a work space. Read more…
